Mistakes of Medical Tube

There certain critical health condition when a doctor can use medical tube to assist a struggling patient. In most cases, medical tubing is used on patients who have lost their ability to breathe or eat food on their own. This may happen due to serious sickness or injury. In this case, a doctor may decide to use a medical tube to provide nutrient or oxygen to the patient so as to support his life. This way, the doctor is able to keep the patient health. However, they have potential of causing more damages if misplaced or used incorrectly. Breathing tubes are snaked into the windpipe to help the person take the essential oxygen. This medical tube is important for keep the airway open to allow the patient breath and connect to the ventilation machine. It is very essential for eh doctor to place breathing tube very precisely. If this medical tube is placed too shallow, it may be impossible for the air to reach the lungs. On the other hand, if it is placed too deep, this tubing will send air only to one lung. This causes the other lung to collapse. Similarly, medical feeding tubes also present dangerous situation if not correctly used. This medical tube is meant to reach the stomach passing through the mouth or nose. It can also be inserted directly through abdomen. The medical feeding tube can perforate the stomach. If used incorrectly, this medical tube can cause gastric haemorrhages. This will leak food into the body. In addition, it can cause asphyxiation if it is accidentally snaked into the lungs.
